What can I contribute if I'm not a creative professional or excelling amateur?

1. Join one or all of the H+ organisations, either for free or paying a yearly fee that will get you extra benefits and aid that organisation in promoting H+, either by lobbying governments or direct to the public. Even if you join for free, your participation will signal growing public support. You can find a list of organisations at the bottom of this page.

2. Allow your computer to be used for scientific research like the cure for cancer when its screen saver is on. Projects like the Grid farm millions of home PC's fractions of vital scientific problems, the whole grid acts like a virtual supercomputer. See these other distributed network groups if the grid isn't what your looking for try:- Einstein@Home, LHC@home, D2OL, World Community Grid, Climateprediction.net or Predictor@home. Not only will the researched science get pushed forward, but so will the technology of the virtual supercomputer.

3. Give money to one of the prizes supporting medical or scientific breakthroughs. The Methuselah Mouse Prize is maybe the best known fund with the aim of encouraging research into ways of combating ageing. Alternatively the X-Prize which successfully encouraged SpaceShipOne to reach suborbital space in 2004 wants to encourage scientific breakthroughs and can be found here.

4. Do you have a 4 meg pixel digital camera, digital video camera or portable audio equipment? If you do, then let H+art have your details and location. Although much work can be carried out virtually, a photographer in major cities and countries around the world would be a great boon. For example, covering conferences or conducting an interview or gathering specific source material for a H+ artist. Don't be put off if you don't consider yourself much of a photographer. I personally have no talent in this field, but with a digi cam you just snap and snap away and eventually you get a good one!

5. If you are a long time supporter, commentator or enthusiast involved with H+, let us know if you wouldn't mind being contacted to advise creatives who might wish to undertake their own H+ projects as you are likely to have the long term knowledge and experience in transhumanism they may lack.
