Ezra Claytan Daniels

I believe the human race as it is has reached a point in its intellectual development where notable advancements and milestones are made almost exclusively in a realm outside the self. Instead of growing, adapting and evolving into a more efficient and fully-realized species, we rely on tools, medicines and half-cocked subversions of our surroundings to make our lives easier and more long-lived. Evolutionarily, without the advent of unforeseen large-scale planetary changes that would encourage a

fundamental change to
our racial philosophies,
this can only propagate
a cycle of stagnation.

Will computers and similar, subordinate technologies change our world enough that the human race will be forced to grow and evolve in order to simply keep up with it? Or will our only hope for transcending our self-imposed lot under this glass ceiling be to turn the technologies we've used to improve our experience of life into our selves, to nullify our natural limitations?   This is a running theme of my work, and a constant source of internal conflict for me as I try to form my own philosophies, hopes and expectations.
